More Rollover Accidents Thursday Morning west of Floyd

accident one

Floyd, IA – Floyd County Sheriff deputies were busy Thursday morning responding to two separate reports of rollovers west of Floyd on the Avenue of the Saints.

In the first incident, a Dodge truck driven by 71 year old Kenneth Northrop of Floyd was traveling westbound on the Avenue near mile marker 208 when he lost control, entered the median and rolled once landing on it’s wheels. Damage was estimated at $8,000.

The second accident involved a Toyota truck driven by 41 year old Darrel Decker of Charles City. Decker was traveling westbound on the Avenue when he also lost control at the 208 mile marker, entered the median and rolled onto its side. Damage was estimated at $2,000. This accident occurred less than 1/4 mile away as deputies were finishing the previous rollover.

Deputies noted that no snow was falling at the time of the rollovers, visibilities were near perfect but the winds were gusty, causing snow to blow across the road way which would then freeze, causing the section of road to ice up. No injuries were reported with either accident.

Chris was born and raised in Webster City, IA. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his significant other Vicki and a daughter Brynlee.
